The 50,000 square meter headquarters building for this insurance company is located on two parcels divided by a city street in Shanghai. The two buildings are linked by a curved bridge that spans the street to express a single building with a dynamic arrival court. My role as project architect was to develop a concept and architectural form that meets the client’s needs for a practical design solution and addresses the cultural expectations for materials and building orientation defined by traditional feng shui principles.
